Three filings, one score

The SEC already publishes the trades. We make them readable.

Each filing type answers a different question. The score combines all three, weighted by size, freshness and how many independent buyers agree.

Filed within 2 business days of the trade
13F

Hedge funds

Every quarter, large managers disclose their US stock holdings. We compare each fund's latest 13F with the one before to find new positions, big adds and exits.

Filed within 45 days of quarter end
13D

Activists

An investor crosses 5% of a company and says it intends to push for change, often a sale, buyback or board seats. Those plans can move a stock.

Questions

Good to know

Where does the data come from?

Directly from SEC EDGAR, the public database where these filings are published. Every signal links to the original filing so you can check it yourself.

How fast do new filings show up?

Usually within about a minute of EDGAR publishing them, while EDGAR accepts filings (6am–10pm ET on weekdays).

What is a cluster buy?

Two or more different insiders at the same company buying stock on the open market within 14 days. Insiders sell for many reasons, but they usually buy for one.

How is the smart money score calculated?

Each signal is weighted by its type, its size relative to the buyer and how recent it is. More independent buyers add points; selling, put hedges and steep price drops subtract. The result runs from 1 to 99.

Isn't 13F data old?

13Fs are filed up to 45 days after the quarter ends, so we label their dates clearly and pair them with Form 4 and 13D filings, which arrive within days.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Manage billing in your account lets you switch plans, update your card or cancel. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

Is this investment advice?

No. AlphaFilings reports what public filings show. It doesn't know your situation and doesn't recommend buying or selling anything.

Do I need a password?

No. You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email.
